Note from Lisa: For our first guest blog post, I reached out to a past intern, Gertrudy. She helped me with social media & I always appreciated how she kept my wild ideas on-brand while infusing her knowledge about astrology. I hope you enjoy her story ~
Labor Day weekend. September 2019.
A normal day, when a calm voice inside of me said ” go talk to him”. I further asked this voice who they were referring to, and that voice said “you know who I’m talking about”.
Mind you, this interaction happened while I was washing dishes.
A few days later, I saw the person in question, and I was going to walk past them and not talk to them because in my mind, why was this voice telling me to go do this, I had no interest.
The joke was on me. My intuition stopped me dead in my tracks as I was walking and said:
“Remember the last time I told you to go do something and you didn’t listen to me”
“Yes”
“And how did you feel about that?”
“I regretted it very heavily”
“Okay so go talk to them”
I walked over to them and had a very extensive 30-minute conversation. As we said our goodbyes and I walked away, I fully understood why my intuition told me to talk to them.
While everything with this person didn’t work out, I did learn to trust my intuition more because it led me to a very transformational relationship that changed a lot of who I was at that time, cracked me open, and kickstarted my journey to being a better person.
Since that experience, I’ve leaned into my intuition to guide me in making small decisions (what birthday gifts or Christmas gifts to buy), big decisions (what direction we are pivoting), and basically any other decision in between.
In times of grief, sorrow and despair, my intuition always has comforting words for me, reminding me that these moments are terrible, but there’s always something to be learned and a perspective that can be shifted.
In one of the worst moments of my life, my intuition came through and said to me ” yes this is a very terrible moment, but think of this as an opportunity to rewrite your own story and start your life again”. With that perspective from my intuition, it made the grieving process easier, because it was true. I couldn’t change what happened, but I did have control over my future.
During moments of transformation and evolution, my intuition has always acted as a supportive member of my team. In the moments I’ve wanted to give up and just stop transforming, my intuition nudges me and says “keep going, this is worth it in the end”. I trust the voice, and the clarity, calmness and peace that reside inside of my soul and body makes it all worth it.
My intuition always has a perspective to share, in a calm, soft voice. My intuition is truly my best friend, always offering support and guidance, at all times to live a life that is most fulfilling for myself.
Your intuition can be your best friend as well. When that soft-spoken, calm voice creeps up on you, listen to it, it won’t steer you wrong. It may not make sense, or it may tell you to do something you don’t want to do, but trust that it is in your best interest. I promise you won’t regret it.
