I was a Forestry major at Cal Poly on the Central Coast of California. Our field trips consisted of staying a few days at Cal Poly’s 3,200-acre ranch a few hours up the coast in Santa Cruz County. Hiking through the redwood groves, measuring tree diameters & heights, singing along to the Mother Hips & Widespread Panic (I realize I just dated myself), and laughing with my classmates are still some of my best college memories.

When I am among redwoods, I instantly calm down and become present to the wonder of nature. Redwoods grow close together, their root systems are intertwined, and they are dependent on each other for nutrients. With Poppy Grove, I help women design and materialize their professional and personal growth plans so we can continue to build community and support each other as we grow.
